40 and 50 in july
last month (it’s august already!) i went to two birthday parties for my cousins. one turned 40, another turned 50.
and i must confess, it was fun joining them and celebrating the anniversaries. to me, those years look a bit scary, no woman likes aging… but somehow, the parties they organized and the way they approached aging was super.
at the 40 party, it was a garden party. another two of his friends shared the date, so it was three of them + their guest, so it was a nice mix of people. my cousin smiled and held his baby girl in his arms since the little girl wanted to party too and did not want to sleep. he had catering (four cute waiters making sure our glasses were filled, bbq, chocolate fountain) and a DJ, so the garden was a dancefloor too. and fireworks too! but it was the atmosphere of friendship and fun that made this night interesting.
at the 50 party, it was a garden party too, but it rained, so turned out a patio party. my cousin sang and danced the whole time, joined by his lovely wife and friends he knew since school days. this party was in another town, not in belgrade, and it was fun for me to take a road trip and stay overnight in another city. my cousin’s wife invited two musicians as a surprise gift for the hubby! nice, huh?!
i think this is the best way to have a birthday party- surrounded by people who care about you, good music, bit of wine and singing!
don’t have pics of these events yet, but will post some once i get the photos from the birthday guys!
